Burgers made out of beetles could be the food of the future.
A group of scientists say the insects' larvae - better known as mealworms - can serve as an meat alternative to help deal with world hunger, as the population grows.
Researchers in South Korea, claim mealworms could soon be an alternative in convenience foods such as sausages or chicken nuggets, as when they're mixed with sugar they taste like the real thing, and provide a source of protein.
StudyFinds.org reports that estimates predict the global population will reach 9.7 billion by 2050, and nearly 11 billion by the end of the century.
