More than 13,400 people over the age of 75 waited on trolleys or chairs in emergency departments since the start of the year.
That's an increase of 35 percent on last year.
Fianna Fáil's Health Spokesperson says the lack of Government action on the issue makes him think they just don't care.
Stephen Donnelly says these patients are extremely vulnerable and that they deserve better.
Stephen Donnelly says our hospital occupancy regularly goes over 100% while the safe level is around 85%.
He said many patients can't be discharged home because home care packages aren't in place.
Deputy Donnelly has accused the government of not caring about the situation.
