Cork is to benefit from 75 kilometres of new dedicated bus lanes.
The National Transport Authority has announced a €600 million investment in BusConnects Cork, which will also include the creation of new 'Sustainable Transport Corridors'.
The NTA claims the initiative will cut bus journey times by 50% across most of the 12 proposed corridors to the north, south and west of Cork City.
The plan also involves building more than 50 kilometres of dedicated walking and cycling trails across the city.
