Almost 105,000 children are on a hospital waiting list.
New figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund, also show nearly 20,000 children have been waiting over a year and a half.
Over 1,100 have been on an inpatient list for over 18 months, and nearly 19,000 have been waiting over a year and a half for their first hospital outpatient appointment.
Almost 32,000 over-65s have also been waiting over 18 months for inpatient or outpatient care.
Over 181,000 people, over the age of 65, are on hospital waiting lists. 2,600 have been waiting over 18 months for inpatient care, and over 29,000 for outpatient care.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly, says waiting times have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister Donnelly says €350 million is being spent this year on reducing hospital waiting lists.
