Pharmaceutical company Abbott, plans to create 1,000 new jobs in Donegal and Kilkenny.
The company is set to expand their existing site in Donegal, and build a brand new plant in Kilkenny as part of a 440 million euro investment.
The plans for its Kilkenny site, at the IDA Business and Technology Park in Loughboy, will be subject to planning permission.
Welcoming the news, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, said says the investment is hugely welcome news, bringing up to 1,000 highly-skilled jobs and expanded Medtech manufacturing capacity.
Abbott has been operating in Ireland since 1946.
