First Music Contact is a free independent information resource serving the independent music sector in Ireland. They offer support and guidance to musicians and bands at key stages in their development, from navigating the local scene to setting foot on the international stage and beyond.
FMC is funded by the Arts Council and resources over 22,000 musicians nationwide.
www.firstmusiccontact.com re-launched today with a new look website, an innovative and public Q&A service and a new Fundraising Initiative
They have redesigned their homepage to outline the services they offer and the projects they deliver. The revamped site acts as a portal for musicians to identify how best they can help them and as a tool for audiences to discover new Irish artists
They have also added a customized live Q&A service on the site a new system whereby questions common to a sector can be asked and answered in a fluid manner. They are delivering this new service in partnership with Pubble a distributed professional Q&A platform. This allows you to actively engage with your community in realtime, building a knowledge base that will grow as questions are answered.
“To adapt and grow with our role we endeavour to always be one step ahead of those we resource so we can develop projects, strategies and initiatives to best develop the sector’ said FMC Director , Angela Dorgan ‘we are very happy to be the first ‘early adaptor’ in the Arts and Music communities here of the innovative PUBBLE system
Lastly a new fundraising initiative has been added to the website which allows visitors and users of their online resource and tools to become Friends of FMC with a crowdfunding philosophy and rewards system in place.www.firstmusiccontact.com
