Documentary ‘The Swell Season’ opens in the IFI this Friday 6th December ahead of its screening at Other Voices in Dingle this weekend.
In 2008, the world fell in love with Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová when their musical collaboration in Irish film Once culminated in an Oscar win.
To celebrate the release of The Swell Season, the IFI are also screening the film that started it all, Once, on 10th and 14th December. The modern-day musical film charmed audiences across the globe.

Glen Hansard was a guest on the Ray D’Arcy Show in July and performed two Frames classics live: Lay Me Down and Revelate.
We didn’t know he was such a romantic - Glen confessed that he tried to buy a plot at a graveyard for a past girlfriend. Aww or ahhh?
