Cavan band The Strypes have gone from strength to strength, being praised by everyone from Noel Gallagher to Alex Turner (they’re heading off on tour with The Arctic Monkeys in October as their lead support).
The Strypes have been open about their musical influences - in particular artists from the 1960s and 70s –and recently proclaimed their love for Canvey Island R&B merchants Dr. Feelgood.
So when the Irish four-piece played the Oysterfleet Hotel in Canvey Island, Dr. Feelgood legends Wilko Johnson and John B. Sparks were only too happy to join them on stage for a run through of the Feelgoods’ 1974 tune Roxette.
