The Longitude Festival is nearly here and the line up looks enormous! Sunday brings alot of awesome - Kraftwerk, Hot Chip and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But there's more...

Any festival poster is a mysterious place where bands battle it out for the big fonts and try to avoid falling through the cracks in the design between the drinks sponsors, glow-sticks, butterflies, and rabbits on acid.

Here are 6 artists from the smaller print to look out for.

The Minutes

...are on fire, resurrecting the firebrand spirit of the late great Rory Gallagher. The Minutes' hard hitting, pedal to the metal blow torch 50's guitar rock will be blasting the birds out of the trees and damaging the wildlife.

Leaders of Men

At the other end of the sonic spectrum Leaders of Men - a backdrop of brooding glacial guitar reverberates against a post-rock apocalyptic landscape of being and nothingness.

Drenge

...the Smiths playing moody garage, sombre and heavy like the dirt under your finger nails or the dark corner of a concrete car park. Recently the M.P. Tom Watson resigned from the shadow cabinet with a bizarre Drenge recommendation in his resignation letter. The band were not best pleased.

East India Youth

The Hostel EP showcased four glowing tracks of smoothly mesmerising and oscillating electro pop melting into motorik.

”ªFlume

The must see SXSW artist Flume's debut album hit the number one spot on iTunes down-under with experimental electronic sound synthesis that slices and dices a rich palette into febrile textures and benz'ed beats with infinite dexterity.

SBTRKT

"Subtract" is a future garage outfit from Aaron Jerome who will be spinning discs for a DJ set on Sunday.
