While Obama is expected to make video cameos in the songs, she has left the singing to other stars.

The 19-track album, titled ‘Songs For A Healthier America’, is due for release in September and among artists featured on it are Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, hip-hop pioneer D.M.C., Doug E Fresh, Jordin Sparks and Ashanti.  

The album will be distributed in schools across America.

Track titles include 'U R What You Eat', 'Get Up Sit Up' and 'Veggie Luv'.
