Kings of Leon are in a happy place. Their sixth studio album has just been released and the guys are enjoying making music again after a period of rest and reflection.
Caleb and Nathan spoke to KC about how much they appreciate what they do for a living: “there are so many bands that would love to do what we do...we’re very lucky”.
They also chatted about how the name for the new album, Mechanical Bull, was inspired by Mike and The Mechanics. All of their previous albums have five syllables in the title and this one is no different: “I wouldn’t say we’re superstitious guys but I think we’ve done it so long...that will be our swansong. When we release one that doesn’t have five syllables, that’s when the world will know that we’re going to take a nice hiatus”.
The brothers admitted that they still have a lot of material from the new album that’s on the cutting room floor and will be the start of the next record – watch out for album number seven. We’ll be counting the syllables...
