Celebrating Culture Night today, the Irish Film Board and Irish musical duo HEATHERS will launch a brand new trailer highlighting Irish films, Irish stories and Irish stars across a wide range of film and animation projects over the last twenty years.
HEATHERS’ new single WAITER is the soundtrack to the trailer. They performed the song on The KC Show with Louise Duffy yesterday – listen here:
The new Irish film trailer includes clips from IFB funded films over the past 20 years and includes Irish stars Colin Farrell, Liam Neeson, Brendan Gleeson, Gabriel Byrne, Cillian Murphy, Robert Sheehan, Domhnall Gleeson, Saoirse Ronan, Ruth Bradley, Kerry Condon, Colm Meaney, Pat Shortt, Charlene McKenna, Fionnuala O’Flanagan and Allen Leech.
Highlighted projects include a wide range of Irish stories, from Intermission, Once, The Magdalene Sisters, Song for a Raggy Boy, Bloody Sunday and The Guard, to The Wind that Shakes the Barley, Adam and Paul, Garage, Granny O’Grim and The Secret of Kells.
Ellie and Louise Macnamara of HEATHERS said: “We are absolutely delighted that the Irish Film Board have chosen Waiter to soundtrack their new promotional video celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Irish Film Board. Being huge movie fans ourselves, we couldn’t think of a better use for one of our songs. And we are especially proud that one of our tracks is being associated with the Irish film industry in this way”.
