Bernie Nolan, one of Ireland's famous pop sensation The Nolans, has passed away aged 52 after a long battle with cancer.
Bernie was the third Nolan sister to develop breast cancer but was given the all-clear three years ago. Earlier this year she was hit with news that the cancer had returned and spread to her brain, lungs, liver and bones.
"Bernie passed away peacefully this morning with all of her family around her," revealed a spokeswoman. "The entire family are devastated to have lost beloved Bernie, a wonderful wife, adoring mother and loving sister; she is irreplaceable."
Nolan shot to stardom with her singing sisters The Nolans, best known for their hit single ‘I'm In The Mood For Dancing’. The group had a string of further hits in the early eighties and sold millions of records around the world. She also became a successful actress with appearances on Brookside and The Bill amongst others.
