By the time Pope Francis arrives in Ireland in 2018, it will have been 39 years since a Pope paid us a visit. On that occasion, millions flocked to see Pope John Paul II, in Galway, Dublin, Drogheda, Knock and elsewhere.
But the country is a lot different now. Divorce is legal, we were the first country in the world to vote for same sex marriage - and by the time Pope Francis comes, we may well have voted to alllow abortion in limited circumstances.
