Catalans went to the polls yesterday to vote in a referendum on independence, which was deemed illegal by the Spanish government.
We were joined by Solidarity TD Mick Barry, who was in Catalonia, and journalist John Carlin. They talked us through the violence that ensued yesterday when police intervened in the referendum, and what might happen next.
