Philip King has had a colourful life in music.
As well as being a founder member and songwriter with Scullion, he is also a filmmaker and broadcaster. He is the creator of 'Other Voices' and presenter of 'South Wind Blows' on RTE Radio.
Philip joined us for our Friday Interview to talk about his long career and love of music. He began by speaking about the range of musical influences in his home city of Cork, which he described as "an amazing place to grow up."
One of Philip's areas of expertise is the Irish influence on American music, which he explored in the award-winning TV series 'Bringing It All Back Home' in the early '90s. He told us about this "musical expedition" and gave his thoughts on what we can do to encourage future creativity here in Ireland and persuade Irish people abroad to return home.
