Two days after the disturbing events in Charlottesville over the weekend, President Donald Trump finally delivered a speech specifically condemning the white supremacists involved.
In our weekly US slot, Cal Thomas spoke of his outrage: "This is ugly stuff, worse than some of the things we've seen in Europe. Race is still an open wound in this country, and this has not been solved."
"This isn't about left and right - it's about justice, fairness and equality, and the faster the President condemns these things, the better it is for all of us."
Marion McKeone added that, while Trump's reaction was better late than never, "America at the moment has no moral leadership in the White House."
