The report found that demand for housing is greatest in Dublin, the Dublin commuter counties and other larger cities including Cork and Galway.
However, the increase in housing completions recorded between the first quarter of 2013 and the last quarter of 2015 was concentrated outside of these regions.
Diarmuid Doyle has been commuting from Navan since 2000.
There’s no train service from Navan, so the only way to get into Dublin is to drive or by Bus Eireann.
He says that there was a noticeable fall-off in traffic levels during the downturn, but over the past 12 months, it has reached a level way above what existed in the boom.
