Parents feel under huge pressure to put on a big party for their primary school children, a new survey indicates.
The average spend on a party at home is now a staggering €387, the survey from parenting group MummyPages.ie shows.
Hiring entertainers, getting themed cakes, and paying for bouncy castles are typical, with the average mother spending six weeks planning a big bash for her son or daughter.
But some parents feel under pressure to invite the entire class, which often numbers up to 30 children.
Or should you just home school the children and hope for a leap year birthday.
