Newly elected TDs Mick Wallace and Clare Daly are calling for neutrality to be enshrined in the Irish constitution.
A new red c poll commissioned by the TDs shows 6 out of 10 Irish people want neutrality enshrined in Irish constitution.
Deputy Wallace says at present, Irish Neutrality is a policy choice, decided on by the Government of the day and that Ireland should work for peace not war.
However, Declan Power, security and defence analyst, said such a move would be dangerous and would leave Ireland isolated.
