There has been much debate recently over the legalisation of cannabis oil in Ireland for medicinal purposes.
Medicinal cannabis has been shown to benefit people with certain conditions, but there have also been concerns raised about the potential health risks.
Jesse Stanley from Colorado is an advocate of Charlotte's Web Oil, which is classed as a dietary supplement in the United States. He told us, "Every time you make something illegal, you create a black market." There are over a hundred different molecules in the cannabis plant, which Jesse says may have different benefits for certain people.
Dr. Chris Luke is a consultant in emergency medicine in Cork. He believes that, while certain types of medicinal cannabis should be prescribed, we need to be careful: "There are always medical questions that need to be addressed. Cannabis seldom kills, but we need to be cautious and accept that there are some hazards."
