Earlier this week John Drennan, RENUA’S director of communications and political strategy, resigned following a disastrous general election result.
The party failed to get a single seat with party leader Lucinda Creighton losing her seat in Dublin.
The former Sunday Independent political editor joined Lucinda last May after the party approached him.
However John tells Gavan Reilly that he knew six months before the election that he was fighting a losing battle.
