"After the surgery I was brought down to the ward to recover. That is when the numbness started beginning at my toes right up to my neck. It felt like an eternity crying out for help, I could barely speak or barely breathe."
Sinéad spent five months in hospital. She was delighted to finally return home to her husband Bob and two young girls but she has one hope.
"My one wish is to get out more with my children therefore I am hoping to raise some funds towards a specialized car." Sinéad and Bob set up a GoFundMe page to reach their target.
They have been absolutely amazed by people's generosity.
They couldn't believe it when one local woman, Deirdre Leahy, got in touch to donate a specially adapted Citroen Dispatch as unfortunately 4 months previously her father, Denis Leahy, had passed away.
"Deirdre got in contact with me, and arranged this amazing, life changing offer! Our family are in awe."
All donated funds will now be going towards adapting the house and other essentials.
