Over the past few days, the grapeveine has been buzzing with the juice that Penneys would be allowing users to purchase items online and then go into their local store to collect them.
We thought it was a dream come true thinking we could see something fab on the gram and bagsy it in our size before it would disappear by the time we made it to the store.
Many reports claimed that chief executive of the company, Paul Marchant, told a group of analysts the service was 'on the horizon' and that "a click-and-collect offering will only drive an incremental benefit for Primark."
Their official statement reads:
"Primark has a strong digital and a rapidly growing social media presence, with currently 14 million followers. Our customers enjoy looking online at the latest offers, and coming into stores to buy. The combination of instore design, shopping experience and amazing prices is what makes Primark so attractive.
From time to time we will look at click and collect as one possible option to extend our customer service. However, there are no plans in the near future to trial click and collect."
Oh well! We still love you Penneys!
