Little Rory Gallagher from Donegal has cerebral palsy spastic diplegia and his parents, Shauna and Gerard were told the prognosis was for him to be in a wheelchair by the age of three.
However, the couple have discovered that a leading neurosurgeon in the US has performed life changing operations on children with similar conditions.
The couple have been told by the US surgeon that Rory will be able to walk following surgery and they are now trying to raise the $120,000 necessary for the operation and aftercare. They have to raise the money by the end of June or Rory won't be able to get the operation.
