We hold the Eurovision very sacred.
Are we ready for a Will Ferrell film about Eurovision? We're not sure.
However, the latest casting announcement could change our minds.
Our very own Pierce Brosnan has been added to the most perfect Will Ferrell comedy recipe ever.
Netflix took to Twitter today to give us some information about their upcoming project.
Things you might have missed:
– There is going to be a film about Eurovision
– It stars Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as aspiring Icelandic musicians
– Pierce Brosnan will play Will's father, who also happens to be the most handsome man in Iceland 🇮🇸
– Yes this is real— Netflix UK & Ireland (@NetflixUK) August 8, 2019
The fact they had to confirm it's real says a lot.
Pierce Brosnan will be joining Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, and is playing Will's Dad.
Will and Rachel are set to play aspiring Icelandic musicians in the movie.
We wonder will they be anything like this year's Icelandic Eurovision entry?
The new movie is to be directed by David Dobkin who also directed Wedding Crashers, Fred Claus and The Judge.
(Side note. He also directed Maroon 5 and Cardi B's Girls Like You music video.)
Will Ferrell is showing his multi-talents by also producing the movie and being one of the writers.
Of course, Will and David have already worked together on Wedding Crashers.
It's also not Ferrell's first time acting in a competition movie.
If Eurovision is anything like Blades Of Glory we're expecting big belly laughs.
We don't yet have a release date of trailer but it's marked on IMBD as in filming.
