Dr Ali Selim's book has already prompted controversy since its launch last week in Trinity College. He has called for 'a revolution of inclusivity' in Irish schools and has been criticised by Catholic, evangelic and atheist commentators.
Dr Selim also believes that wearing the hijab is a 'divine obligation' and 'essential aspect of character' for Muslim girls. 'Depriving Muslims of the right to wear hijabs is very threatening to their identity'. He speaks to Matt about the Irish education system, the hijab and Sharia law.
