TV3's 'Doctor in the House' returns to our screens tonight. The show's experts will be helping Irish families to turn their lives around and enjoy healthier diets.
Daniel Davey is one of these experts. Daniel is a performance nutritionist who works with the Dublin senior football and Leinster rugby teams. He is now taking his experience of helping elite athletes with diet and performance into the homes of ordinary Irish families who need to make big changes to their own health.
Daniel spoke to Matt about the importance of making one positive lifestyle change at a time and how there are often emotional connections to the food habits that we have.
Nutrition supplements play a big part in many of our diets, but are they necessary? Daniel says that, while they have their place for some people, "A lot of it is marketing-based. We can achieve all we need to achieve from eating fresh, natural foods."
