It was a great weekend for Team Ireland at the European Games in Minsk where we came away a total of 6 medals!
Kurt Walker brought home gold, Michaela Walsh and Kellie Harrington won silver, and Regan Buckley, Michael Nevin and Gráinne Walsh all ended the championships with bronze medals.
Gráinne Walsh's semi-final bout on Friday came down to a 3-2 split decision where she lost out to Karolina Koszewska who went on to win gold. During the medal ceremony, Gráinne experienced something those of us with Irish names are all too familiar with! According to the announcer, the recipient of the bronze medal was… Gray-ney Walsh?
It's safe to say this wasn't the first time Gráinne had her name butchered and she took it all in her stride! You can watch it here:
