On Tuesday, we'll find out who has made the cut.

Back in June, Paul McGinley spoke to Matt Cooper on The Last Word in an exclusive radio interview about his upcoming task: to pick his team for the 2014 Ryder Cup.

The event takes place at Gleneagles, Scotland from 23rd - 28th September.

The golfer, who is European Captain for this year’s Ryder Cup, is the first Irish Ryder Cup Captain.

Talking about the pressure he’ll be under to make his picks, Paul McGinley told Matt:

“It will be tough, no doubt about it. Every previous captain has said how difficult it is to make the picks, particularly…when you get to know the guys so well personally... Some of those guys are going to miss out".

He went on to explain: "When you take Ryder Cup captaincy you just don’t take the good bits and let somebody else do the other bits”.

He also spoke to Matt about the preparation that goes into selecting the wild cards.
