After a weekend of violence, cancelled rallies and attacks on journalists, the Republican frontrunner Donald Trump is facing condemnation, including from within his own party, for inciting rallies into violence.
Trump is refusing to take responsibility for several days of violence and chaos on his campaign trail with many warning that clashes between Trump supporters and protestors will spiral out of control and result in deaths.
In increasingly ugly scenes at his rallies, Trump often encourages the crowd, often resembling a baying mob, to “knock the crap” out of protestors and singles out individual protestors who are then dragged away and often punched.
In one shocking incident, a protestor was sucker-punched in the face by a Trump supporter.
The man was later arrested and charged but Trump has said he may pay the attacker’s legal fees.
