Wendy Coughlan was diagnosed with cancer five years ago.
For the first three years of her illness she was quite well but last year she became very sick and she realised that the family had to have “the conversation”.
Wendy and her daughter Helen spoke to The Last Word earlier as did Dr Katherine Sleeman, a lecturer in palliative care medicine at King’s College in London.
