The latest CSO figures revealed that there are over six and a half thousand young carers in the country, some as young as 10 years of age.
We meet Jamie Mooney and his mother Sabrina.
Jamie who picked up the 2014 Young Carer of the Year award has been looking out for Sabrina since he was six years old, often calling ambulance services during her epileptic seizures and talking medical personnel through her condition.
