Eamon Lillis was released from prison on Saturday after serving five years and two months of a six years and 11 months sentence for the manslaughter of his wife Catherine Cawley in December 2008. On Friday, the day he was originally to be released, reporters, photographers, and television camera crews gathered outside Wheatfield Prison waiting on him to make his first appearance as a free man. When he finally emerged on Saturday, he was pursued by reporters across Dublin to the airport, where more journalists were waiting. After engaging briefly with them, and telling them that he had served his time, he flew to England to stay with his sister in Southampton. There were reporters in Southampton airport to greet him, too.Is this all too much?
