In 2013, the director of Last Tango In Paris Bernardo Bertolucci suggested that a rape scene in the movie had come about as a result of a trick played by him and Marlon Brando on the then 19-year-old actress Maria Schneider.
She certainly thought so. Before her death some years ago, she said she had ""felt a little raped" by what happened on set. Today Bertolucci said his 2013 remarks had been misinterpreted and that accusations of rape were ridiculous.
