Are we set for an all-out strike by LUAS drivers?
SIPTU say a full shutdown of the light rail service is inevitable following Transdev’s decision to put all drivers on protective notice,
LUAS drivers were served on Tuesday evening with protective notice with immediate effect by Transdev.
In response, SIPTU said they would ballot for all out action which would bring the LUAS to a halt indefinitely.
Gerry Madden, Managing Director at Transdev, who operate the LUAS, say they are not threatening or escalating the dispute.
Brid Smyth, People Before Profit TD for Dublin South Central, says all workers should support the LUAS drivers and that it's about time ordinary workers get their share of the recovery.
