There were disturbing scenes in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend as neo-Nazis and white supremacists gathered to march and clashed with counter-protesters.
Donald Trump has come in for huge criticism for his condemnation of the events, in which he referred to "all sides." Should the President have done more to single out white supremacists?
Veteran White House correspondent Tom De Frank thinks so: "Trump denounced racism and bigotry on all sides, but he has not specifically called out neo-Nazis who were involved in Charlottesville."
Tom questioned why it fell to Vice President Mike Pence to do so instead.
"Trump missed an opportunity. Normally a Vice President's job is to reinforce and reinstate the words of the President, but it makes you wonder why Pence is saying what the President should have said first."
Washington-based journalist Bill Holland added: "The whole thing was a false equivalency by saying there were many sides. The rest of his sentiments were fine, but there was only one side in this - the white supremacists."
