Born in Cork, John Campion was held back in school twice, failed his leaving cert, and did not attend college. But he was always practical.
At age 21, Campion emigrated to the United States with an airline ticket and 20 pounds in his pocket
He arrived in America and started working as a lighting roadie – soon to become the head electrician on the tours.
His big breaks came with David Bowie, Kiss, Michael Jackson, The Eagles and the Rolling Stones tours.
John went on to set up temporary power companies and is now co-founder and chief executive of APR Energy which reported $308.3 million in revenues.
Today his biggest passions are automobiles, airplanes and philanthropy. He owns a fleet of vintage cars and two airplanes.
