Today saw the launch of the Today is Better campaign, aimed at raising awareness of chronic pain.
Former Ireland rugby player Luke Fitzgerald joined us to discuss his own experience of dealing with chronic pain, and says that every situation is different.
"Chronic pain can show up in lots of different ways for different people. I've been able to manage it really well since I've retired, but it can be really tricky and make you agitated and uncomfortable."
Daragh Connolly, President of the Irish Pharmaceutical Union, also gave his advice on what people should do if they are suffering from chronic pain.
The most important thing is to realise that your pain is personal. Delayed treatment and conversations around your health only lead to worse outcomes."
"Talk to your pharmacist and start the conversation early."
