Animal welfare charities have called on the government to review weak dog breeding legislation, following a BBC documentary about ‘puppy farms'.
‘The Dog Factory’ was originally broadcast in April and was repeated last night.
It demonstrated how dogs bred on unsafe puppy farms all over Ireland were being exported, often in poor health, to the UK.
