For pedestrians, one of the most annoying things about walking is the regular brush with injury as a cyclist decides he can't be bothered to use the road and speeds along the footpath instead. It had been thought that cycling on footpaths would be included as one of the many offences which would be subject to on the spot fines in new proposals to be launched by Transport Minister, Paschal Donohoe, but it has since emerged that that won't be the case.
