Earlier, children’s authors Darren Shan and Shane Hegarty talked us through, what they consider, the best picks of the year, when it comes to children’s books.
Shane’s picks included Moone Boy: The Blunder Years by Chris O'Dowd and Nick Vincent, which Shane says is excellent reading for 9+ but all round funny.
Also on his list was Danger is Everywhere by David O'Doherty and Chris Judge and The Boy in the Dress by David Walliams.
Chaos Walking Trilogy, by Patrick Ness made it into Darren’s list of recommendations. As did, The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman, The Book Of Lost Things, by John Connolly and Heroic, by Phil Earle.
