When it comes to Christmas shopping, plenty of us are left scratching our heads wondering what to buy for the men in our lives.
Mairead has had a few conversations around the office about exactly that and decided it was time to ask the men of Ireland directly - what do you really, really want for Christmas?
You answered in your droves, so here is the definitive list of what Irish men actually want for Christmas:
All we want is a pack of boxers and socks. They’re so expensive we just won’t buy them ourselves.
Every Saturday & Sunday of the 6 nations off from Feb 5th. Like, no parenting required, no chores, no dinner making, just to be left alone with the big tv & the remote! 😂 Or failing that, size 13 Asics.
Two tickets for any Leeds United match in December. I'd do anything to get them.
What men really want for Christmas is to be like a kid and not like a dad. Meaning no socks and underwear, no shaving and spray kits. This year I've treated myself to a 55" TV and a Playstation 5... But also, this room will be converted to a cinema room for all. For me it's to feel like a kid, isn't that what Christmas is about, all the excitement.
A new pair of real black leather jeans.
Crossword/puzzle books as I spend hours doing them but everyone says not that's not a proper present 🎁. To me it is though.
GAA season ticket!
Money or vouchers to his favourite shops for Christmas.
A season ticket for Ireland home football games.
Anything in a golf shop.
Garage storage shelves or a new cordless drill.
All I want for Xmas is to go to the pub on Stephen's Day for all the football and horse racing with no expectations on when I’ll be home! 👍
An astro pitch hire. An hour for you and your mates to have a 5 a side, then all head for pints.
A drone.
A gift voucher for a track day at Mondello Park.
We want functional things that we use in our every day life. We want the things that we use. So for example, I'm into mountain biking, new tires are always a good call, same as grips.
Personally a good book always does the trick- there’s always a book on a topic you’re interested in!
A voucher for woodies.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST…
It’s hard to beat the love of a good woman for Christmas.
