The future of the border on the island of Ireland has been a hot topic for the last two years since Britain voted to eject themselves from the EU.
And because it is such a hot topic people are trying to understand exactly what a 'backstop' means and just how complicated the whole thing has become!
Well, it has always been a complex situation that has literally been bordering (sorry) on a kind of farce.
None more so than this bizarre news report from 1974. A BBC chap visited Pettigo, a small village on the border between Donegal and Fermanagh to demonstrate how people are living in an area at the height of The Troubles.
Everyone is trying to get on with their lives as normal as possible but the details of their lives comes across like a Monty Python sketch.
The pubs all landed on the Irish side, the only one on the English side fell into the river!
The local Publican/Undertaker has to cross a river to get to his garden! And ANYTHING he grows has to be eaten onn the British side because the importation of vegetables into the Republic is strictly forbidden!
An old granny is described as a "smuggler" and the amount of fags sold in the pub is insane.
It's just an idea of how crazy the border situation used to be...
