Ennis is celebrating today after being named as Ireland's Friendliest Place - congratulations people of Ennis! I've been many times and it's a lovely place to go on a night out, and the people are indeed really welcoming and friendly.
Some other places in the world that have the friendliest people, in my experience are New York (honestly, really really nice!), Clifden in Co Galway and pretty much anywhere in Co Kerry.
France is one of my favourite places in the world but they wouldn't really have the reputation for being the friendliest... but I kind of like how direct they are. You always know where you stand in France, even if they're behaving somewhat snooty now and again.
- “Paula any time I’ve been to Dublin, I’ve never found it to be particularly friendly. However, give me a weekend down in Cork city any time! Friendliest place ever!” - Niamh, Sligo

- “Hey Paula, so I've been to Clare Island, Co. Mayo for a weekend away with my girlfriend and have to say they are hands down the most friendly people in the country. From the boat ride to the island they were chatting away, even the dogs were friendly, we went for a walk on the beach and Lassie comes running up to us with a stick to play fetch. Beautiful spot!” - Jeff
- “Described on Trip Advisor as the ‘Friendliest Place in Ireland’ Nenagh, the largest town in North Tipperary, is one of Ireland’s hidden gems. And it really is Paula, so underrated too!”
- “Hi, I was in London and saw a lady struggling up the subway with a buggy so I went to grab the front end to help, well!!! The look I got, you'd swear I was going to steal the baby!” - Mike '

- “Morning Sweet P! I find almost anywhere I've been round this great planet of ours, people are friendly once you make an effort yourself. If they talk grand n if they don't, grand, move on. Except for Meath people, found them to be very balanced, a chip on both shoulders haha! Anyways, have a great day everyone, up n at it! Woop woop!” - Shay
- “Hi again Paula. Oh yeah I love Thurles! Best clothes shopping eve, I treasure those gems :-) also I'm half Meath and half Dublin so yep perfectly balanced... not! LOL!”- Julie

- “I got invited off the street once to a wedding in Laos. It was deadly, and is certainly my favourite country from my travels!”
