Are you a fan of Facebook? How about Twitter or Instagram?
Well whatever your Social Media of choice is, it seems that teens are so over Facebook, but they love Instagram and Twitter.
Investment Bank Piper Jaffray conducted a survey in the States recently that discovered that 90% of American teenagers use social media, with 76% of them using Instagram as opposed to 59% who use twitter and only 45% who use Facebook.
What's most striking about the results, is that when Piper Jaffray conducted the same survey 6 months ago, Facebook was used by a much larger 72% of teens, which constitutes a huge fall from grace for the social media giant.
In that 6 months, Instgram's popularity has grown 7% up from 69% where as Twitter has fallen 4% to 59%.
This puts Facebook third on the list of popular social media sites coming in ahead of Tumblr, Pinterest and 'Other' social media sites, into which category Snapchat falls.
Other interesting results in the survey show that peers and the Internet are the two biggest influences in teens' lives. These two come together on social media sites. Also, Apple remains the top brand for teens when it comes to technology. 67% of them own iPhones and of those who don't, 73% expect their next phone to be an iPhone.
The survey of 7,200 teens aged on average 16 years, was conducted in classrooms and electronically.
