I follow an account on Twitter that tweets Bob Dylan quotes only - and I love it (@quotesbobdylan since you asked). I think he (along with Shane McGowan) is one of the greatest poets there has ever been and I could lose days looking at stuff he's written. This opened the floodgates to quotes being sent in from listeners of The Early Breakfast - both musical and otherwise - and what a profound bunch you are!
One of the funniest texts I have ever received is at the very end of this article - I wasn't brave enough to read it out on-air because firstly it's really rude and secondly, trying to say it without laughing would have been really difficult. Enjoy!
People will tell you where they've gone
They'll tell you where to go
But till you get there yourself you never really know
Where some have found their paradise

My favourite quote is from a work colleague. He was looking at a good looking woman walk past one day and one of the lads said "John, you're a married man”, to which he replied "it doesn't matter where you get your appetite as long as you eat your dinner at home".

I love the line "every heart is a package tangled up in knots someone else tied" from Kathleen by a seriously under rated wordsmith - Mr Josh Ritter. One of the best poets/songwriters around today. Annemarie in Galway

Morning Paula - regarding quotes, my friend and I were just talking yesterday about how things have changed and stuff happens that we didn’t plan for. To which I immediately piped "It’s like John Lennon says; Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans". John Lennon was an amazing Lyricist. Lisa T xx
Hi Paula! I have two favourite quotes that my Gran used to always say to me and they're what I live by now: “A shut mouth catches no flies” and “least said, soonest mended”. She was a wise woman! Lillian, Dublin

A poet from Lyreacrompane in Co Kerry once told me that the local Casanova was so well endowed "he could bate a donkey out of a wet bog with it".
