An Irish mother is urging all women to check their breasts regularly after she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer earlier this year.
Alicia Lynch, 33, received the diagnosis in February and has just finished chemotherapy.
Alicia, who is mother to two year old twins, is due to have surgery at the end of this month.
Alicia says it has been a very tough time in her life but is quick to add that she has met so many inspirational people on her journey.
'Going through this you see the world through new eyes,' says the mother of two, 'I feel so lucky that I have been given a chance, my cancer is stage 3 but curable.
'I want to highlight the importance of regular breast checks-especially amongst younger women.
'Prior to being diagnosed I never checked my breasts. I was fit and healthy. I breast fed twins exclusively for 6 months. I never thought this could happen to me. I didn't know how to check my breasts and more importantly how to check under the arms.
'We need to raise awareness amongst younger women. It will save lives.'
