Typical Ireland.

One day it's 20 degrees, the next day we're dealing with a hurricane.

Temperatures have already reached a balmy 17 degrees this morning, and they are set to rise to 20 degrees over the weekend.

That's a massive six degrees above average for this time of year.

Met Éireann is describing it as 'exceptionally warm' for October.

Met Éireann also issued this update on Hurricane Ophelia which is due to reach Ireland on Monday, 'At this stage, there is strong evidence from the weather forecast models that the remnants of Ophelia will track close to or even over parts of Ireland.

'At present, there are still a wide spread of possible outcomes. Our forecasters are treating the situation with caution and are in contact with our international colleagues.'
