Yesterday this picture of an electric car being charged was posted to Twitter.
The car, apparently while being charged, was clamped on South Lotts Road, and Twitter users were quick to take to social media to express their annoyance over the situation.

However, there is a grey area when it comes to clamping electric cars while they are being charged.
Some users made the point that the car could have been left there all day.
Prob because the owner left it there for a day! Let's be clear re the purpose of the spot..

"You can't charge that here". When the clampers just don't care about your environmentally conscious car choices... pic.twitter.com/MbFaZxyZfU

While others said the photo could be staged and that the owner plugged it in after he had been clamped.
Spaces can only used while car is being charged. Plugged in after it was clamped I'd say!!

Not a lot of people are aware, but drivers still have to pay for on-street parking, even when they are charging their car.
Well trod path, sadly, among EV community that pay and display still applies in @DubCityCouncil due to disagreement between them and ESB

We all just need to ride bikes instead.
